As a company operating in the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning space (HVAC), it’s our responsibility to ensure that we don’t just meet industry standards, but exceed them - because the safety of your home or business is in our hands.
For our industrial and commercial clients, we demonstrate this commitment through our REFCOM Elite accreditation, and our TrustMark registration gives domestic customers peace of mind.
But we’re also members of the BESCA Competent Person Scheme, which adds further value to the service you get from our team.
BESCA (Building Engineering Services Competence Assessment) acts as an independent certification body. It is authorised by the DLUHC (Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities) to run a Competent Person Scheme for any business or individual wishing to self-certify work completed in line with Building Regulations in England and Wales.
This includes the installation of air source heat pumps, air conditioning and mechanical ventilation systems in both domestic and non-domestic buildings.
Our membership allows us to self-certify under:
Part L (Conservation of Fuel and Power) - the Building Regulation that sets standards for the energy performance and carbon emissions of new and existing buildings.
Part F (Ventilation) - the Building Regulation that provides guidance on indoor air quality.
So, should your project require compliance here, working with us eliminates the need for local authority inspections - saving you time and money.
But that’s not the only benefit. To be awarded certification, a business must pass a rigorous inspection process, giving your greater confidence in our professional standards.
Inspections are carried out to assess both technical and commercial standards. Technical standards are demonstrated through a site visit - showing examples of work completed no more than six months prior - whilst commercial standards are assessed through an office inspection. This is where our working practices, customer service, skills and qualifications come under scrutiny. Criteria we are measured against covers:
To be recertified, a business is inspected again 12 months into its membership and designated a ‘risk rating’. This determines the frequency with which it is audited to ensure it continues to meet BESCA’s exacting standards.
So, all in all, our status as part of the BESCA Competent Person Scheme is there to give you every confidence in us as a business, and every confidence that the services we provide are designed with your best interests in mind.
